I think what makes a good book is if the author really likes their characters and their story line. If the author isn’t bored with their story, the reader won’t be either, or at least, most won’t be. The reader ultimately decides what makes a book good and itself presents a challenge in defining a good book – every person is unique.
The first category is relevance, which means the importance to the matter at hand. When discussing literature, a source is relevant if the content relates to the topic you are dealing with.
A great story with many struggles and ultimate success can be told even when the writing is average. Some storylines are not compelling, but they are so well written that people will recommend them. They must be effected by the world around them, and yes character deaths are needed for most stories. Lead the reader into believing something, then reveal a clue that it might be something else. Not only are these texts incredibly useful, they are also hugely exciting and entertaining to read, no matter what a person is interested in. Yet, without the study of classics these texts may have been overlooked, and the way history is written would be completely unfamiliar.

Communication skills are still imperative in the globalized workplace environment. With workforce distributed across the globe, one may have to work with people of different cultural backgrounds.
If Authors and writers always keeping in mind so books will make differences and it have to be good to make a difference in someone’s life. I think that a good book make its reader go on a trip to where the story take place. It make readers want to reread the story and want to know what is going to happen in the story. I think a good book also mean that there will be a good setting for the story.
And no, awards do not matter, actually the only awards that could matter is the one that you give to a book after reading it. But sometimes a good book has to do more with what the reader needs at that given time in his or her life. The books I read while going through my divorce may not fall into the normal classification of a “good” book, but it was what I needed at that time in my life and I may therefore classify it as a good book.
To understand this is to understand where the current focus of marketing lies. The world has to be well formed with laws and government, even if politics isn’t the main focus. If there’s magic, there must be rules for said magic, and the book has to explain how it’s viewed.
